Furniture shopping!

I have been a fan of Memorial Day sales since I bought my awesome bedroom set from RC Willey 2 years ago, so this year Levi and I decided to search for our new furniture. :)

At Ashley, we found this beautiful, comfy couch (as shown by Levi testing it out.) Due to 2 sales associates informing us of the wrong price (they thought it was lower than it actually was on sale for,) we ended up getting $200 off. I am definitely my dad's daughter..always getting a deal! Of course, we had to buy the extra ottoman (as shown on the left) to accommodate 6'4" Levi, but I am super excited for all the lazy movie nights ahead of us at our own place!

Being as I have lived at home for the past 22 years (in he same house ALL that time,) I am a little nervous to move out, yet stoked for "playing house." I am not so much excited about paying rent and bills, but for now, I am having a blast buying things! (My bank account hates me.)

When we went to RC Willey this morning, we were able to buy this washer and dryer set. It took us a good 2 hours to decide between the front loading set and a good, old fashioned top loading one. I voted for the cheaper top loading set, but Levi said it was too "out of date," so we ended up investing in the better set. The feature I am most excited about: the washer and dryer both have steamers. I won't have to start ironing, after all!! Horray!

Side note: we spent another half hour debating over whether or not to get the pedestals (shown on the bottom.) The sales associate said that the pedestals are good for taller people, so I was allll for 'em. Why? Well, I've been doing my own laundry since 6th grade. Levi, on the other hand, still has his laundry done by his mom. Needless to say, I don't want Levi coming back to me and saying that he can't do his laundry because it hurts his back to bend over. End of story: we didn't get the pedestals, so let it be known that I tried to make it easier for him to do laundry. No complaining, Levi. I'm still making you do your own laundry, at least for the first few years of marriage, even if it kills ya! ;)

Next, I've been in search of a counter-height dining table set for awhile, but hadn't yet found one with chairs that have backs on 'em. Brandi sent me over a link yesterday to RC Willey's deals and said she wanted this table, but it turned out to be the exact kind I wanted. (Brandi and I always have the same tastes.) So, sorry Brandi...didn't mean to steal it but I couldn't pass it up! You are welcome to buy it from me and give me yours, ha ha!

Highlight of our day: some nice, random couple gave us a $25 gift card to RC Willey that was the doorbuster gift (we didn't make it within the first 200 people) since they weren't using it. It's nice to know there are still good people in the world. Guess that's a sign that I better start being nicer to strangers, too!

When all was said and done, I spent enough money to get this cute little camcorder for $20. :) It was the only thing I actually got to take home (since everything else will be delivered to our future home - when we find it, ha ha - mid July) so I was the most excited about this. It will be nice to use and take videos on our honeymoon, AND it will make me start taking more videos of Tess and Caidence as she starts to walk. It even posts videos directly to YouTube and Facebook, somehow, so hopefully I will be more diligent with recording all the cute little things my darling nieces do.

Long story short: I didn't realize how many little things go into moving out, since I have NEVER had to do so, but I am so so excited for all of the adventures ahead of me as Levi and I start our life together!! (Someone please feel free to cut up my debit card and keep me away from Ikea and all home stores, as I very well may go broke before I even move out.)

Engagement Pictures

After having to postpone our pictures twice due to weather and Levi's work schedule, the weather finally decided to cooperate and we were able to have them taken last week. (Almost 1 month before our wedding, mind you -- hence why my stress level has been especially high lately.) I was worried that the pictures wouldn't turn out well, partially due to a bad hair day and huge zits on my face, but when I got the pictures back from our photographer, I was SO happy. They're AMAZING!

I am getting my bridal pictures done next week and I'm crossing my fingers that my dress will fit (no joke.) Starting in January, I was seriously working my butt off every single day exercising, in combination with awesome eating habits. Did it pay off? No. I gained weight like crazy. Just my luck, eh? Needless to say, the dress I ordered back in October, despite my awesome exercise and dieting, did not fit when I tried it on in April and it turned into a mental breakdown. Let's pray that it fits when I get my pictures taken next week, haha.

Thanks to Brittany Jones and her amazing graphic design skills, we were able to stay up late last night and finish our invitation design. I think they turned out awesome and I can't wait to have them printed and sent out next week! It's crazy to think we have been engaged since September 19th and here it is, almost June! July 7th sure is coming up FAST! I am so excited for all of the things to come over the next month. Can't wait for the bridal shower my sisters are throwing me and the bachelorette party from my sweet friends; they're going to be so much fun! :)

Here are some of our engagement pictures as a sneak peek, but you'll have to wait until after July 7th to see the bridals once they are taken. (I am old fashioned and don't want Levi to see me or my dress until the moment I walk down the aisle.) I sure hope they turn out just as amazing as these did! :)

Gettin' with the times

I decided to get with the times and start a blog! I'm a bit overwhelmed with all the wedding planning right now, but eventually I will (attempt to, at least) make this blog cute and what not. :) I've never thought that I had an exciting life, at least not enough for someone to blog stalk. Now that I am getting married, however, I am starting to have more fun and exciting things to blog about as Levi and I start our life together.

I type WAY too fast so I'm pretty sure most of these will end up being NOVELS and no one will read all of them. I apologize in advance and will try to shorten them as time goes on! This will probably end up being more of a way for me to "journal" some of our adventures, big and small, along with a lot of random things I'll post that probably have nothing to do with Levi. Here it goes!
